A short story about Outsourcing

A long time ago in a Galaxy far, far, far away, an important and totally new matter to the Galactic Republic was being discussed. The parliament debated about it incessantly, appalled  by the atrocities 😱 the federation of entrepreneurs had been doing with this tool.

UNBELIEVABLE! The working class had been bared because both their benefits and something unique in that Galaxy that was thoroughly regulated, the distribution of a percentage of the profit made by enterprises, had been taken away/stolen. This was also known as PTU (Participación de los Trabajadores en las Utilidades or Profit Sharing). This situation occurred however big the companies were; large, medium, small, and micro enterprises avoided it.

As every six decades in this Galactic Republic, it was a time of radical changes. It was then when the sovereign on duty made a great discovery that would benefit everyone, EVERY SINGLE ENTERPRISE without exception; farming out job functions to employees not included in their payroll. This came to be known as OUTSOURCING a ferocious tool? that bared the working class from their rights established in the General constitution in the XIX century. Those same rights they had as inhabitants of that galaxy far, far, far away.

Despite the hardships, the inhabitants of that galaxy were finally rewarded with hope; eliminating OUTSOURCING was now a possibility.

The Supreme Ambassador openly dispatched his committee of CLON@S to incorporate the new rules to be followed into the already established laws.

The new rules established by the committee were confusing for the association of entrepreneurs, the Supreme Ambassador, and the Parliament. INCONCEIVABLE! they were also part of OUTSOURCING!.

After both an intense discussion on the matter held by the representatives and a deeper meditation by the CLON@S about the economic impact that OUTSOURCING could lead to in the Galactic Republic, it was agreed that “specialized services” could not be considered in the OUTSOURCING activity. What did they exactly mean by saying specialized services? Well, those ones which were not involved in the core business of the enterprises. In other words, those ones which were not part of “the corporate purpose” and the “main economic activity” of such entities. This would be a complicated task for the limited number of the Yedhi Knights that were to maintain order in that galaxy.

Was the new regulation of PTU indeed beneficial for everyone? This agreement established that the payment of the benefit would be a three-month salary or the average of participation in the enterprise received in the last three years. Had it been an actual agreement between the Galactic Republic and, the federation of entrepreneurs and the working class?

Perhaps, only perhaps, both thought of the convenience of modifying the General Constitution of that galaxy. Indeed, they DID. The article 123.

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH EVERYONE!
